Abstract submission

Abstract Submission deadline: 15. December 2011.

Participants are invited to submit abstracts relating to any of the topics listed below. The accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts. Participants who are interested can send their entire work, to the following e-mail address: apiecotech2012@savacentar.net within the 7 days of the received information of abstract acceptance. After rewieving it will be also published, entirelly of partially in the Book of Abstracts.

Day 1 - The Role of Technology in the Quality of Bee Products plenary session

• The effects of year round technique in working with bees
• The effects of manipulation with honey supers
• The effects of hive type and height of honey supers
• The effects of migratory beekeeping
• The effects of honey extracting technique and time
• The effects of technique and time of collecting other bee products
• The effects of supplementary feeding of bees
• The effects of the treatment against varroa mite
• The effects of treatment against other bee diseases

Day 2 - The Role of Environment in the Quality of Bee Products plenary session

Guidelines

Abstracts can be submitted through this website exclusively. Submissions by post, e-mail or fax will NOT be accepted.

Due to the process of registration it is obligatory to register for participation before submitting the abstract(s). Payments are not required for registering for participation.

To submit an abstract, please log in the Profile you created when registering for the Symposium, using your username and password. This username and password were sent to you in an e-mail of registration confirmation. When you log in, please submit your Abstract on the page Abstracts. If the abstract is successfully submitted, you will receive an automatic confirmation by e-mail. In case you don’t receive the confirmation e-mail, please contact the Secretariat.

Rules for submission:

• All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.
• Only abstracts of presenting authors who have paid their registration fees by January 10^th will be scheduled for presentation and included in the Book of Abstracts.
• The Scientific Program Committee will review abstracts and information regarding acceptance, and scheduling will be sent to the author via the email address provided on registration and abstract submission.

 

ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATION INSTRUCTIONS

Information for oral presenters

LCD Projectors will be provided for Oral Presenters. Presentations should be prepared in Power Point. Please note you need to bring your presentation as a PC / IBM compatible format on a CD or on a flash memory using the USB port in the computer (no ZIP disk!) and test it on the computer in the Hall during the break before the session in which your presentation is scheduled, at least 1 hour before the beginning of the session.

Full details for the preparation of the oral presentations will be sent to authors upon acceptance.

You may supply your own laptop computer as a back-up.

Please note that the meeting computer in the session hall is being supplied with Windows XP and Office 2003 (at least).

Important note for macintosh users
If using a Macintosh laptop computer, please note that you need to supply your own, confirm that it has a VGA socket for external signal and come to check it first with the technician in the Blue Hall as soon as you arrive, either during the coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 1 hour before the start of the session.

 

Information for oral presenters

The poster stand dimensions are: 2m (height) x 1m (width). Authors are responsible for bringing their posters to the Symposium. Please do not mail them to the Symposium Secretariat. 

 

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:

• User name and password (received by e-mail after completing registration process).
• Presentation type preference (poster presentation / oral presentation)
• Abstract category - please choose one of the themes listed above
• Author or authors' names: name (first name), surname (family name)
• Affiliation details of all authors: department; institution / hospital; city; state (if relevant); country
• Abstract title
• Abstract text - limited to 500 words/ 3500 characters
• Abstracts must use the following structured format:
• Introduction
• Materials and Methods
• Results
• Conclusions
• We recommend using word-processing software (for example Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. You may also type your abstract directly into the abstract field, but have in mind that:
  a) You will not have a copy
  b) You cannot check the number of words
